There are many sites devoted to submarines that served in World War II, veterans organizations
and related topics. Here are just some of the better ones. If you know of any others,

The mission of HullNumber.com is to provide a means for shipmates to keep in touch with one another.

Dutch Submarines includes a history of the Icefish and plenty of photos of the boat after it was loaned to The Netherlands and renamed the Walrus (1) in 1953. It remained on active duty in the Dutch navy until 1971.

U.S. Submarine Veterans, Inc. is a comprehensive site with submarine history, reunion information, links to pages for individual submarines and other information.

U.S. Submariner Directory is described as an "offline" searchable database with more than 35,000 listings of U.S. submariners. It's a way to find and keep in touch with former shipmates.

Submarine Sailor is a site dedicated to helping submarine sailors and their families stay in touch, and preserve some of our history along the way. You can find boats, crew, family and friends, home pages and more.

The Fleet lists more than 300 sites, most of which are devoted to individual submarines.

Spritz's Navy is a fascinating look at the type of individual selected for World War II's Silent Service and how they trained. The name alone -- "Spritz" -- should conjur up lots of memories for any World War II submarine vet.

The USS Cod is one of the last World War II submarines afloat and open to the public in Cleveland, Ohio.

The USS Bowfin — nicknamed the "Pearl Harbor Avenger" — is operated by the non-profit Pacific Fleet Submarine Memorial Association in Honolulu, and is one of only 15 U.S. World War II submarines still in existence today.

Submarine Tenders of the U.S. Navy is the "unofficial home port" for information and history about the ships that support the Silent Service.
